Wild Beasts (January 2017 Part 2)

For a long time, Arturo stood still and breathlessly silent. He didn’t know what to do. Without warning he had stumbled into a dire situation with an inhuman creature.

“I beg of you, leave in peace.”
Arturo’s pleas fell on uncaring ears. The shadowy figure stood motionless. From behind its black mask, dark and heartless eyes stared at its hapless quarry. An awkward eternity passed in the coming moments, until Arturo finally had enough and broke the silence.

“I asked you nicely once.” Arturo’s tone was more firm this time. “Now I mean it. You need to leave.”

The hairy creature made no sign of acknowledgement. It just continued to stare, unflinching.

“Damnable beast! Get out of here!” Arturo began to yell and wave his arms.

The man’s yells were cut short by a deep primal gurgling that emanated from the beast. It raised its clawed hands and bared its sharp teeth.

“I’m sorry! I’ll give you whatever you want!”

And that is the story of how a Raccoon became Prince of Quarry Creek.

Dangerous creatures, can't be trusted.
“The thief, as will become apparent, was a special type of thief.
This thief was an artist of theft.
Other thieves merely stole everything that was not nailed down,
but this thief stole the nails as well.”
