CvC policy

Post by Lindsay » Wed Sep 25, 2019 8:28 pm

The XOs have been asked what the policy Dark Prospects has for Character vs Character (CvC). Dark Prospects primarily focuses on a Character vs Environment (CvE) but certainly includes, and does not shy away from, CvC elements. Those elements include everything from social maneuvering to direct physical confrontation between Characters. There is no "opt-out" mechanism for CvC - in fact with our Alting system, it can often be difficult to differentiate Player Characters from Non-Player Characters.

Dark Prospects is intended to be a lethal game. Characters will die. Sometimes this may be due to monster attack, sometimes this may be due to your fellow players. Sometimes it might be self-inflicted, or even accidental. In all cases, it is recommended that the Players (and Staff!) talk to each other. It's the best way to prevent things from becoming an OOG problem.

We are implementing a Courtesy in Cruelty policy in our ruleset. Courtesy in Cruelty - When you are about to harm another player's character really badly, or are about to seriously and permanently alter the status of that character (Death, Blood Bond, Change of Character type, etc) you are requested to remind them of anything they can do to get out of it that you can think of, including using Powers, Boons, Willpower, etc.

Your character may be cruel, but please be a nice player and help out.

This policy does not apply to NPCs or Monsters that occasionally maurad our town.
