Spirit Pact (3)

Components:	Chalk, powder, or other marking implement
Cost:	1 plus 1 Essence per mortal participant
Cast Time:	3 minutes

This ritual may be stopped at any point during the process by any participant, but will continue to the end unless stopped by a participant.

Locate a willing Gaian Spirit and a pack of 1 or more Mortals. Show this ritual to the Spirit Player to let them know that they have dialog in the ritual.

Draw a circle on the ground, then recite the following passage:

“[Spirit name], those before you seek your audience in hopes of forging a pact. Reveal yourself to us.”

Spend 1 Essence. The named spirit steps into the circle and is granted the Apparition power at no cost. This lasts until the completion of the ritual, the spirit steps out of the circle, or the spirit is attacked.

Say the words: “[Spirit name], those gathered before you seek the boon of your service, and offer of ourselves to form an agreement. What do you wish of us?”

The spirit should remind the pack of its Ban so that they may decide whether they wish to live by it. The spirit may then make an additional request of the mage pack, or simply agree to form a bond.

Upon completion of the additional task or prior to the forming of the bond on the spot, the spirit says the words: “I am pleased by what you offer and agree to grant you my aid in return. We have an accord.” Each mortal participant spends 1 essence which is immediately converted to gnosis and given to the spirit.

At game-down, turn in a 3x5 card with the words:

Spirit Pact
Ritualist: [your character] ([your name])
Pack: [name of your pack]
Members: [each member of your pack]
Totem: [the name of the spirit]

At the following check-in change the Patron on your character sheet to the name of the new Totem. You may now purchase the Totem background. Totems should expect to be treated as respected advisers to the pack, not a superiors unless the Totem Ban is something like "Must obey my every word."

This ritual can be recast to add people to an existing pack.
