Rite of the Sun's Bright Ray (2)
Requirements: | 1 Corax |
Components: | 1 (very not orange) red ribbon long enough to tie around your neck. A blanket or other covering material that you don’t mind getting dirty. |
Cost: | 5 Gnosis |
Cast Time: | 1 minute |
May contribute to: | Glory, Ferocity, Infamy |
Purpose: | Grants the Corax Helios’ fire until the next sunrise. |
The ribbon for this ritual must be a strip of cloth that is clearly not a piece of neckwear.
This ritual may only be performed while the sun is in the sky, but lasts until the next sunrise. The wereraven must perform this ritual while in Crinos - yep, you must look awkward to receive Helios’ blessing.
In Crinos, step into the sunlight - you must be standing directly on a patch of earth that is exposed to the sun (you probably should not perform this rite in town). Kneel before Helios and say “Bringer of light, I beg your audience.” Sit still for 30 seconds and consider whether you deserve the response. “Your light shines throughout the day, but at night we lose you. I ask for some of your light, that I may bring it to those creatures of darkness which would harm your people. One ray is all I ask, and I shall return it to you in the morning.” Spend 5 Gnosis, and tie the ribbon around your neck such that pulling an end can untie it (use a bow or other quick release method).
Until the next sunrise, or until the ribbon leaves your neck, you may touch the ribbon and use the power Elemental Weapons, 1 Gnosis, Self, 60 seconds, 1x/30 minutes.
