Phantom Shadows (5)
Requirements: | Changeling, Dreamcraft or Legerdemain, Rituals 5 |
Components: | Costuming, pros, masks or make up that represent the role the summoned Chimera should play |
Cost: | 5 Glamour |
Cast Time: | 15 minutes |
Notes: | The Chimera summoned will arrive as STs have NPCs available |
Purpose: | Summon a chimera to aid you for one hour |
The ritualist gathers the materials for the summoned chimera, the props and costumes that it shall wear, and places them into a circle.
“From the Dreaming, I summon you. Chimera, be conjured!”
The Dreaming is fickle and doesn’t always respond in linear time. (IE, there has to be a spare NPC available for this to work.) The ritualist is presented with a blank slate chimera (NPC in neutral garb) that they prepare by giving them costuming, props and make-up of their own. The ritualist is responsible for dressing up the NPC, and in the process briefing them on their identity and function, conjuring the chimera from raw dream-stuff.
The Chimera will only last an hour. It has 10 health levels, no will power, and no powers other than Gauntlet Perception. The Chimera is Umbra-Bound under normal circumstances, though it can be Shunted normally. It will cease to exist if seen by a veiled human while it is in the Realm, and any time it hears someone verbally deny the existence of magic, it takes 1 damage. It will play the role it was designed to do to the best of its ability.
A Chimera may have the appearance of a mask or tabard power, without any of the benefits or abilities associated with them. A chimerical werewolf or other animal mask still triggers delirium should they be seen by a normal human, but the summoned chimera also will cease to exist in the process.
