Rite of Opened Sky (4)

Requirements: At least one Theurge Werewolf, or at least one one Bastet, Gurahl, or Nuwisha.
Cost: 10 Gnosis, another 5 Gnosis to additionally provide healing if desired.
Cast Time: 3-5 minutes
May contribute to: Wisdom
Purpose: Allows the user to cleanse a place or group of objects.

This rite begins by preparing the Caern as far out as it provides Gnosis - it does not need to be completely free of natural matter, simply tidy and uniform (don’t worry, we don’t expect you to move trees, buildings, fences, living plants, or large stones).

All tainted objects and characters should enter the very edge of the Gnosis radius - do not allow them any nearer the Caern Heart itself than is absolutely necessary. Tainted characters who leave the radius during the ritual are not cleansed, so any Wyld tainted characters may need to be forced to stay in place (paralyze is acceptable).

The ritualist begins with speaking: “Balance in all things. Our strength comes from this balance, and I call upon that strength to restore balance to all within this space.” Any untainted characters may join in the remaining ritual performance. Move to the Caern heart and dance (carefully) around it - this may be any dance, including things like ballroom, or makeshift moving type dancing. Characters may make their own music if they wish as well, but that is not required. This dance should continue for at least 3 minutes. Upon completion, spend the required Gnosis between all participants (remember, only untainted characters can participate) and call out: “All within Gnosis Regeneration range of the Caern are cleansed of Taint.”

Any objects cleansed remain free of taint until the end of that game weekend. To represent this, add a 3x5 card covering the item’s tag, On this 3x5 write out the original tag, minus the Taint aspect of the item. Include the date on the 3x5 card. If you collect 3 of these cards for one object over 3 game sessions bring them to check-in the following game and receive a new tag without the Taint. Shattering this card destroys the actual tag as well.

If you wish to additionally restore the health of all Shifters and Kinfolk within the same range to full, you may do so by spending an additional 5 Gnosis and adding a call of “All Gnosis Users within range of the Caern are healed of all wounds.”
