Target:	1 Shifter who wants to hold a grudge.

Purpose:	To officially beg forgiveness and be granted that kindness.

The ritualist must approach the character who they have wronged. Notify them that you are performing the Rite of Contrition and that ignoring this rite is frowned upon by other shifters - this notification may be done out of game and you may show them this ritual. The ritualist should bow their head, explain what they are making amends for, then drop to the ground and kowtow to their target, begging for forgiveness. They must remain in the kowtow, begging, for at least 60 seconds, at which point they may move to a kneel and finally state: “The Rite of Contrition is complete, forgive me.” - The target should accept the apology. Failing to do so is looked down upon by other shifters. This forgiveness lasts until the ritualist makes another offense to the target, at which point the target may decide whether they are still upset by the original slight.
