| Purpose: | To allow the Hedge Mage to create new Talismans. |
The Energy Talens required to enact this Ritual can be made from any type of Energy. Tonics of Vitality are worth 1/2 of an Essence for purposes of creating Talismans. To create a Talisman, you will need 10, 12, 16, 22, or 30 total Energy from Talens for a level 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 Talisman respectively. Adding another tagged Fetish, Fetter, or Relic (level 1) Item to the equation reduces the cost of the Talisman by three times the source item's level (3-15), and destroys the original item's tag.
Create a Ritual Circle by making a circle approximately 2 feet in diameter with another circle a few inches smaller inside of it. Create a single outline circle a short distance away and connect the two with two lines. You may stylize this circle as is appropriate for your character's understanding of their Hedge Magic, or leave it as a simple circle. Place the light source in the center of the double circle, then place all of the items within the circle that you intend to sacrifice to your new Talisman around the light source. Place the item that will become your new Talisman in the other circle. Sit at the edge of the circles and chant - the exact words are up to the player, but should be similar to "I take of these, that are infused with magics, so that magic can be reborn into my hands." Touch each of the items within the circle at least once while doing so. This chanting should continue until the time between the initiation of this Ritual and the end of chanting has taken approximately 2 minutes. Complete the Ritual by stating: "And I destroy this magic that my magic shall be born." Place the items [b]you are sacrificing to the new Talisman out of game by wrapping them in ribbon or placing them inside of an orange container. Break the outer Ritual Circle at the channel between the two circles, then break the second circle at the channel between the two circles. Pick up the item that will become the new Talisman. Leave a checkout card with the name of this Ritual, your name, your character's name, the date, and the number of Talens listed. Request a new Talisman tag at the following check-in to receive your new Talisman tag. Please have the new Talisman designed prior to your on-site check-ins.
Once the ritual is completed you may choose to destroy the ritual circle if you wish.
