Chill of Oblivion (5)

Requirements: Necromancy, Rituals 5
Components: A black shawl with a pattern on it, (It should not be mistakable for a Mantle) A candle.
Target: self
Cost: +1 uncleansable wyrm taint for effect duration
Cast Time: 15 minutes

Prepare your necromantic foci

Wrap the shawl around your head and/or shoulders. Recite the names of those people you know who have died. Light the candle and spend a minute remembering one of them.

Repeat the following:

"Oh sweet Oblivion,
I hear your call
While I remain on Earth,
Wrap me in your protective Pall"

On a white 3x5 card, write the following:

Ritual: Chill of Oblivion
Caster: (Your name)
Begin Time: (Current time and date)
Duration: Until Dawn
Effect: Until the ritual expires, the ritualist gains Remove Vulnerability: Fire, 1 Blood, Self, 1 hour. They also gain Magic Susceptibility: Possession and 1 level of Uncleansable Wyrm Taint. Additionally, if a power would reveal diablerie they must answer yes even if they have never committed that sin.

Writing the 3x5 card is part of casting the ritual; it should either be done at the time of casting, or the caster must silently meditate for 1 minute if a preprinted card is used.

If you remove the shawl, the ritual will end immediately. (Though you can reposition the shawl if you like.)
