Ritual:Caern Creation
Rite of Caern Creation (5)

| Purpose: | To create a new Caern/place of power. |
Phase 1: Each participant should be clean before the ritual begins. Get a clean wet cloth and wipe any exposed flesh. If during the Ritual any of Luna's faces is tainted during their phase, the Ritual fails.
Phase 2: The participants must gather at the heart of the new Caern. The Rite begins in the Realm and ends in the Umbra. Ritemaster: "Brothers, sisters, [cousins, if appropriate], I call for your aide. What we do here tonight/today is not to be taken lightly. We call on our mother to ask for her blessing. If she wills it, she will grant us strength but require our care. Do all present agree to participate? To protect her Gift to us?" Await a response. Anyone who responds in the negative should be asked to leave. Ritemaster: "We open our eyes to both worlds, we see what she wishes us to see, and the Rite begins." Ritemaster: "All Gnosis users within the sound of my voice spend 3 Gnosis to receive Gauntlet Sight for the next hour."
The five representatives of Luna's faces should form a circle facing toward each other, while any guardians should be placed outside the circle facing out, and asked to prepare for the fight to come. Ritemaster leads, All five participants chant: "With our mother's blessing, we gain our mother's strength. With Her strength we stand at the ready to defend her. To fight to restore Her Balance." This chant should be repeated 5 times. During the following phases, all participants should return to their circle whenever they are not fighting and should try to maintain the chant whenever possible.
Phase 3: This stage of the Ritual invokes the lunar cycle. As each participant completes their moon phase action the Ritemaster calls: "All nearby protectors and ritualists gain 5 Gnosis."
The New Moon moves to the center of the circle and enters Crinos, raising claws to the sky. Spend 3 Gnosis and call upon the hidden mother, "Mother, upon my soul, your hidden mark gives me my humor and my stealth. With my Gifts, I give of myself." The New Moon rests their claws against the ground and must remain planted for the next 5 minutes. Upon the end of this time, call out: "Crescent Moon, your time has come. Take my place." The New Moon is to remain planted until the Crescent comes to relieve them.
The Crescent moon should return to the inner circle and tap the claws of the New Moon. "I relieve you. Care for us." Enter Crinos, raise claws to the sky. Spend 3 Gnosis and call upon the shrouded mother. "Mother, upon my soul, your mark shows me secrets. With my Gifts, I give of myself." The Crescent Moon rests their claws against the ground and must remain planted for the next 5 minutes. Upon the end of this time, call out: "Half Moon, your time has come. Take my place." The Crescent Moon is to remain planted until the Half Moon comes to relieve them.
The Half Moon enters the circle and taps the claws of the Crescent Moon. "I relieve you, care for us." Enter Crinos and raise claws to the sky. Spend 3 Gnosis and call upon the balanced mother. "Mother, upon my soul, your mark gives me balance and a thirst for justice." The Half Moon rests their claws against the ground and must remain planted for the next 5 minutes. Upon the end of this time, call out "Gibbous Moon, your time has come. Take my place." The Half Moon is to remain planted until the Gibbous Moon comes to replace them.
The Gibbous Moon enters the circle and taps the claws of the Half Moon. "I relieve you, care for us." Enter Crinos and raise claws to the sky. Spend 3 Gnosis and call upon the boisterous mother. "Mother, upon my soul, your mark gives the gift of Song and merriment." The Gibbous Moon rests their claws against the ground and must remain planted for the next 5 minutes. Upon the end of this time, call out "Full Moon, your time has come. Take my place." The Gibbous Moon is to remain planted until the Full Moon comes to replace them.
The Full Moon enters the circle and taps the claws of the Gibbous Moon. "I relieve you, care for us." Enter Crinos and raise claws to the sky. Spend 3 Gnosis and call upon the furious mother. "Mother, upon my soul, your mark grants me the wisdom and strength with which to guide a battle." The full moon rests their claws against the ground and must remain planted for the next 5 minutes. Upon the end of this time, call out "All return to the circle." As soon as possible, all members should return to their starting circle. The full moon must remain planted until the others have taken their spots.
Phase 4: Direct the inner circle to kneel. Ritemaster: "My friends, we open our eyes and guide the mother to us. We give of ourselves, and the Mother takes. We will stand again. Ritualists, spend all of your Gnosis and Rage." For the next 5 minutes the fight is likely to rage, characters may fall during this time. Every minute from this point: Ritemaster: "All nearby ritualists and Guardians gain 1 Gnosis and 1 Rage."
When this period ends, the Storyteller present should call out to let the participants know whether or not they have succeeded. If they have, all participants are restored to full pools.
The Ritemaster calls: "Wyrm Creatures, we have won here today. Mass Terror: Wyrm Creatures Run From Me and Do Not Return."
With this, the Ritual ends.
