Rite of the Changing Moon (1)

Requirements: Gurahl, once per season or once every other season (see below)
Cost: none
Cast Time: 10 minutes

Until you complete your cycle, Once a Season, you may change your Auspice. You must go IN ORDER through your Auspices, though you need not start with Arcas if you came into game at a different Auspice - in that case, you are considered as having been earlier Auspices once already. The phases are:

Arcas (Ragabash) => Uzmati (Ahroun) => Kojubat (Galliard) => Kieh (Theurge) => Rishi (Philodox)

Starting the season after your Rishi phase you may choose to become any Auspice. A note will be made on your character sheet about this at check-in. If you wish to change your Auspice again, you must wait 2 Seasons and may never be the same Auspice more than twice.

To perform this Rite:

Begin by cleansing yourself - you need not take a full shower or bath, but should take a wet towel and wash your arms, face, hands, and any other exposed flesh. If another character is around with the Rite of Cleansing, ask them to Cleanse you even if you are not Tainted. You may substitute the Rite of Self Cleansing for the Rite of Cleansing.

The Gurahl must then find a secluded space, be seated on the ground, and draw glyphs around themselves to represent the 5 Auspices. Chant the Auspice cycle slowly 3 times ("Arcas, Uzmati, Kojubat, Kieh, Rishi"). Destroy all but the 2 Auspice glyphs involved in your change. Draw a circle around the Source Auspice (your current Auspice) and state "I [Deed Name] have outgrown my [Auspice] year. With this Ritual, I invoke change." Draw a line from your current Auspice to the new Auspice. "By the next moon I shall be [New Auspice]. With it, I take a new role." Destroy the old Auspice glyph and feel free to erase the line at this point. "My time has been a blessing, [Patron], and I thank you for it. Now I move on." Leave the final Glyph drawn in place. After game, turn in a 3x5 card as follows:

The next game, your character will change to the new Auspice.

If this is performed at the last game of a Season, it is considered to have been changed during the season in which you performed the Rite.
